At Barbareño, the culinary ingredients are chosen to reflect our sense of place on the California Central Coast. Since the food speaks of what the earth bears around us through place and season, so too our wine testifies to the various micro-pockets and terroirs of our Mediterranean climate.  Our beverage menu focuses in on low-intervention wines sourced from small-scale winemakers and growers who have committed their talents and resources to the wine business and who can feel the economic impact of our purchases. The Central Coast of California is arguably one of the most versatile wine terroirs on the planet, and our area’s specificity impacts the end result of our local wines significantly.

While our wine list at Barbareño is ever-fluid, there have been plenty of standbys since we opened in 2014. We love to highlight the incredible work of Ernst Storm (Storm Wines), Marc Piro (Piro), Mikey and Gina Giugni and Mike Brughelli (Scar of the Sea), Drake Whitcraft (Whitcraft), and Justin Willett (Tyler, Wenzlau), to name but a select few. They put deep thought into the actions they take to create uniquely memorable, always elegant, and moving wines.
